Does this extract the original embedded pictures?

No. It renders the complete visible page, including text and pictures, as one image.

Should I choose JPG or PNG?

JPG is useful for smaller image files. PNG keeps sharp edges without JPEG compression artifacts and is often useful for text and diagrams.

Can I convert only a few pages?

Yes. Enter a range such as 1-3, 5. Leave it empty to select all pages, up to the 40-page export limit.
